The main casualty of the yard incident. The city gave us a new bin and hasn’t charged us yet… we’ll see if they do.
With an overnight connection, we slept in the baggage area the night before our standby flight. It had been a long journey so far, and I didn’t make the flight. Teeka was supposed to come back to me in one of these fancy carts. I went down to get her out of doggy purgatory for a little walk before we tried to get on the next flight to Juneau. There was a mistake, a big mistake. Apparently she made it one the flight without me. That’s a big dog travel no-no, but it turned out awesome because Adam was able to pick her up right when she landed, and she was home sweet home!
The really funny part was how I had been stressed out about juggling her, going in and out through security. I was fantasizing about persuading the airline staff to send her on without me, but I didn’t say a word. I knew it was against the rules and they couldn’t do it, no matter how logical it was or how nice I asked. I felt like I won the lottery.
